Progress today! I got the oil and filter changed and I got my rear wheel pulled off. My Dad will help me install the new tire. Check out the New and Old tire here! That old one was shot! No wonder it cornered so bad last year. My brother in law, Charlie, took my inner fairing and all my electronics and he will install all that stuff in my fairing. What a guy! He does excellent work.

The Pre Launch "To Do" List

Well, I didn't get as much done this weekend as I had hoped. I did not get my oil changed or my rear tire replaced. I did, however, get my fairing securely mounted. So here's what I have left in order of priority:

Oil Change
Rear tire install
Stereo installation including all wiring.
major detail job

The Trip "Out West"

So my Dad and I are taking this trip to California via what is left of Route 66. We have talked about it for years and we've both gotten to the point that we have enough vacation time to justify a 2 week motorcycle ride.

Originally we had planned to ride to Chicago and do ALL of Route 66. But, I think we are just going to head west and catch 66 in the St. Louis area. That will save us a lot of miles and buy us at least a day.

We plan to spend a night with my Step-Mom's sister in Springfield, MO and we have family in Los Angeles where we will probably spend one night, maybe two I guess. Other than that, motels. No camping. 500-600 miles a day on a bike, I want a steak, a shower and a bed. Call me a sissy. ;-)

The return route has not been decided. I would like to ride up the PCH to San Francisco and then bring 80 across NV and UT go through Denver, etc. But Dad has mentioned route 60 coming back through AZ and NM which looks like a really cool road.

Stay turned. I'll be discussing what I have left to do to my bike before launch, what I'm taking with me, what new products I'm testing on the way, etc.

Back to blogging... never really started, I guess

So I'm about to take off on a 2 week trip on the bike. I'm hoping I can blog from the road, so I figured I better get acquainted with this tool again. I will be posting updates and photos from the road.

I got my tags and insurance renewed. Now I just need some warm/dry weather.

it's ALIVE!

got the Roadie out today and fired it up. Did a quick 2 mile ride with no insurance and expired tags. It was just enough to spark my jones to go for a ride!

Well... I don't have my usuall excitement brewing

I don't know what's wrong with me. It's April. I don't have my tags renewed or my insurance for this year. And I'm not even all that excited about the impending riding season.

I have even contemplated selling my bike in order to put a new deck on my house.

I have also decided to NOT do a big bike trip this year. I was planning a trip up into Canada... But the wife is insisting on going to Disney, which will require several thousand dollars.

Maybe I just need a couple of warm days to get my spring mojo pumpin.
